Workshop Technician for Stretcher Bar & Frame Production

This is an entry-level, part-time position in our warehouse.  The starting pay is $9.00-$9.50 per hour, and we are looking for someone who can work a minimum of two 8-hour shifts per week between the hours of 9 am & 6 pm weekdays. The ability to adhere to safety instructions and pass a drug test (illegal drugs) is required.  This is an on-site job located in West Melbourne, Florida.  The Workshop wood-cutter position is a prerequisite for all other positions in the corporation.  Training is provided and the requirements are:

1.  Honesty, Integrity & Dependability:

• A positive attitude

• Common sense & strict adherence to safety rules

• Computer literacy (basic computer functions use of web browsers and email).

• The willingness to learn, and follow directions

• The ability to lift / transport up to 80 pounds with the use of a hand truck

• The ability to assist with large heavy, freight unloading and loading

 

2.  Job duties & training involve:

• Interpreting & processing customer orders

• Using industry-specialized saws and routers for PRECISION fabrication of varying lengths of fine art stretcher bars and frame moulding

• Packaging, shipping receiving, creating shipping labels using computer software.

• Working with large boxes of wood

• Maintaining order and cleanliness in the warehouse

• Proactively looking at ways to streamline the business

• Test & offer feedback on new procedures

• Assist other departments as needed

 

3. Progression path/future opportunities:

• Learn to use a pneumatic fine art canvas stretching machine & stapler

• Learn to assemble and test pneumatic fine art canvas stretching machines

• Large-format fine art printing & use of Adobe Photoshop

• As you become knowledgeable of all our products and wish to advance in the company, you will be expected to develop SUPERIOR customer service skills, and interface more with our customer base

• Future opportunities can vary from an administrative path, to business development & marketing or even large-format fine art printing to operations management
